A Miniature Painting Exhibit by Amy Daileda
My first miniature painting collection will be on exhibit at the Angelica Kauffman Gallery in Chicago for the month of December, 2023! This micro gallery is only 12″ X 16″ and will feature 9 of my newest paintings. I’ve been exploring the tiny native forest flora and representing them in miniature form. I’ve even created miniature gold frames for each piece. What a fun project it has been for considering scale in multiple aspects!
The gallery will be viewable in person in Chicago at artist Shari Pundrich’s studio window which is called Remade in Chicago. View the gallery online through Instagram @AngelicaKauffmanGallery and Elaine Luther’s blog. Elaine is the artist who created, curates and runs the micro gallery.
The paintings will all available to purchase in my website shop starting on December 6. They will be released in the shop simultaneously with the opening of the show. Purchased pieces will be shipped as soon as the show is over. I am excited to share the collection with you!
Here’s the show statement:
Tiny Forest Flora
Miniature Paintings by Amy Daileda at Angelica Kauffman Gallery, December 2023
Step into another realm through the portal of tiny forest flora. Details become expansive. Tiny becomes your entire world. The flowers, mushrooms and lichen that I’ve painted are all naturally very small. These representations of them are larger than life size even though they are painted in miniature form!
Explore infinity through the tiniest of forest plants. Is it the center of a tiny wildflower or the center of a galaxy? We are all made of the same molecules as the earth and stars and connected on every scale.
I created these paintings using acrylic paint, miniature panels, and tiny brushes. I use macro photos I take in to see details of plants. My Portland, Oregon studio window looks out on our organic garden, which is a constant source of inspiration.
Enjoy!
