The Verdancy Project hosted their first annual artist seed swap & packet design in the fall of 2021. The seed packet art show is now online for you to enjoy. I was thrilled to be invited to participate.

Eleven artists exchanged seeds in handmade seed packets using their own artwork. I created an acrylic painting of a Hollyhock flower and reproduced it for my handmade seed packets. I saved seeds from the 5′ tall pink heirloom Hollyhock plant in my garden.  Those gorgeous flowers attracted tons of bees and hummingbirds in the summer and well into the fall.

It’s so satisfying to be able to collect and share seeds with others. Making art connected to that is incredibly inspiring to me. I’m looking forward to planting all of the seeds I received and am excited to participate in the project again this fall!
